My work as a Lincoln scholar centers on the ideas that shaped him and the historical worlds he inhabited. The research yielded several books, including a forthcoming complete history of Lincoln’s youth in Kentucky and Indiana. Beyond print, I host Lincoln Log, a long-running podcast. Read more here.

I am an equity member at Jackson Kelly PLLC, where I lead the firm’s intellectual property and licensing practice group. I also serve as an Adjunct Scholar at the Cato Institute, focusing on constitutional structure, executive power, and federalism. Read more here.

I began the Claybourn Genealogical Society (CGS) to assemble and record data and information on ancestors and descendants of the family. CGS also works to preserve and safeguard manuscripts, books, cemeteries, and memorabilia relating to Claybourns. Read more here.

Our personal home library consists of over 1,725 books with publication dates ranging from the 17th to the 20th centuries along with several signed first editions. We also maintain several other collections of historic printed or published writings. Read more here.
